      What it does

Find a recipe, cook it, plan the week.

      Find

      • Search every recipe by name, ingredient, cookbook or your own tags.
      • Filter by course, protein, diet, method, time and rating.
      • Air fryer, slow cooker, Instant Pot, sheet pan and freezer-friendly are detected for you.
      • Leave out what you don't like: “without mushrooms, cilantro”.

      Cook

      • Cook mode keeps the screen awake and makes the text bigger.
      • Check off ingredients and highlight the step you're on.
      • Tap any time in a step to start a timer with an alarm.
      • Scale to half, double or triple; keep your own notes and star ratings.

      Plan

      • Drop recipes into a week view.
      • Add meals to Google Calendar, or export the week in one file.
      • Build a shopping list from a recipe or the whole week, sorted by store aisle.
      • Copy or share the list to Notes or Reminders.
      Search

Filters that know what's in the recipe.

Miso reads each recipe and works out the course, main protein, diet, cooking method and roughly how long it takes. Try it on a few example recipes.

      Where recipes come from

The books you have, plus the sites you use.

      Your ebook cookbooks

Point Miso at a folder of EPUB or MOBI files (Google Drive works). It learns each book's layout and pulls out every recipe, photo and cover.

      Tricky books too

Picture-heavy and scanned-looking cookbooks are read page by page with your Mac's built-in text recognition.

      Favorite recipe sites

Search NYT Cooking, EatingWell, Love & Lemons, Skinnytaste and Yummy Toddler Food from inside Miso, see their ratings, and save a recipe so it's searchable offline.

      Any recipe link

Paste a link from most recipe sites and Miso imports the ingredients and steps.

      Get it

It runs on your own Mac.

Miso isn't a website you sign up for. It's a small app you run at home, so it can read your own cookbook files.
